Director's Message

Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan- a pace setter organization in school Education,established Zonal Institute of Education and Training at Gwalior to cater to the training needs of its Internal Clients- the staff. The foundation stone of ZIET, Gwalior was laid on 30th Sep.1995 by Late Sh. Madhavrao Scindia, then Union Minister for Human Resource Development,Govt. of India.

The main building housing Administrative and Training Wing was inaugurated on 20th Nov. 2002 by Sh. H.M. Caire, I.A.S,then Commissioner, KVS. The Institute has a 15 acre campus with hostel facilities for about 100 participants. The other amenities available include sports grounds/fields, staff quarters, fountains, gardens and parks.
KVS is a dynamic organization and has rapidly grown over the last four decades. The "quality growth" of any organization can be ensured if the human resource that drives it, is committed to excellence. The commitment towards excellence is closely linked with the level of competence of the individual concerned.

Knowledge is expanding at a tremendous pace and the technology as a catalyst is changing the face and structure of the 'Peadagogy'. The new skills and competencies have become a key element in ensuring quality in the process and product alike. Therefore, to cope with the modern challenges, the development of staff at frequent intervals is imperative.

The ZIET, Gwalior is committed to fulfill the training needs of internal clients- staff of KVS.We are conscious of our role in capacity building of staff of KVS in general and teachers in particular. Thousands of teachers and other staff posted in various Kendriya Vidyalayas, spread all over the country, have attended different training programmes at this Institute so far.

Besides training needs of the staff, ZIET, Gwalior is actively involved in developing various other programmes and acts as a support system to KVS as far as academic activities in KVs are concerned.

This Institute has assumed the responsibility of disseminating the information about the policies of KVS amongst staff. During training courses organized at this Institute, our clients not only acquire the latest skills in pedagogy but also become facilitators for implementing policies of KVS. In addition to the teaching subject content, the participant teachers are imparted training in methodology, use of computers and other technological aids. Other allied areas like stress management, personality development, yoga, guidance and counseling etc. also form an important component of our training programmes. During the training courses trainees participate in workshops, seminars, preparation of teaching aids as well as organize exhibitions etc.

While we feel proud of our successes, we are continuously striving to improve. We are in search of excellence and all our endeavors aim at achieving quality at work "YOGAHA KARMASU KAUSHALAM"
